Olivia is an American writer-director who was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She sees storytelling as a way to help us understand our own humanity. Her films are sensitive yet unsentimental explorations into identity and belonging because, as someone who is half-Chinese and half-White, it is something she’s still searching for herself.
Olivia earned her BFA in Film & TV from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She recently graduated from the prestigious and highly selective National Film and Television School in the UK, where she was awarded a MA in Directing Fiction. Her graduation film RED EGG & GINGER will make its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Festival in the program FLOATING ROOTS, Tribeca’s inaugural event focused on Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander heritage and storytelling. Olivia’s previous work has screened at Academy Award and BAFTA-qualifying festivals in the UK and the US.
